Kristoff wins Tour of Oman 2nd stage


MUSCAT — Norway’s Alexander Kristoff won the Tour of Oman second stage yesterday, with Leigh Howard taking possession of the leader’s red jersey. Kristoff, riding for the Katusha team, beat Australia’s Howard in a sprint finish to the 139-kilometre ride from Al Bustan and Qurayat. Howard, who was placed second after Tuesday’s opening stage, replaces German Andre Greipel at the top of the overall standings. The race continues today with the third stage between Muscat and Al Bustan.
