First batch of students graduate from KGIS
MUSCAT — It was day to remember for the Graduating class of 2014 from Knowledge Gate International School (KGIS) on May 26, 2014. The students had the distinction of being the first to graduate from this new educational facility. The graduates were further honoured by the presence of His Excellency General Sultan bin Mohammad al Naamani. The event was held at the Prince Palace Hall in Hail and attended by distinguished guests. The proceedings commenced with the procession of graduates and teaching staff to the accompaniment of the traditional Graduation March. Readings from the Quran, poetry readings, student speeches and a performance by the KGIS Primary School Choir under the direction of Samuel Kett added to the charm of the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Graduation Certificates by Al Naamani, who said: “I am very happy to be with these young people on their special day. They have been nurtured by us, their parents and by their teachers in KGIS. ”In his address the outgoing principal Peter Ross remarked: “As the first students to graduate from HGIS they have set high goals and made their last efforts to achieve them.” The incoming principal, Tom Sheridan, thanked everyone for the work that had gone into ensuring the success of the evening.
