Oman Air moves Qatar operations to new Doha airport
By A Business Reporter -
MUSCAT — Oman Air is to move its Qatar operation from Doha International Airport to the newly opened Doha Hamad International Airport, from May 22.
The move follows the new airport’s soft opening on April 30 and most of the airlines currently flying from Doha International Airport will, over the next few weeks, be accommodated at the new, state-of-the-art facilities.
The change of location means that Oman Air’s services from Muscat to Doha will now arrive at the new Hamad International Airport, giving passengers the opportunity to be amongst the first to experience the dramatic new development.
Oman Air operates up to eight flights a day between Muscat and Doha, with further flights available as a result of its codeshare with Qatar Airways. Further information will be provided, and appropriate arrangements will be made, for passengers connecting with airlines which have yet to make the move to the new location.
The relocation of operations in Doha, has been welcomed by senior airline managers, who have emphasised that, the opening of Hamad International Airport, will further elevate the quality of passengers’ experience on the ground, and we look forward to welcoming our customers onboard Oman Air’s award-winning service on their next visit to and from Qatar.
Positioned at the edge of the Arabian Gulf, Hamad International Airport’s tranquil waterside setting provides a perfect backdrop for its stylish architectural design, underpinned by advanced airport systems. Situated on reclaimed land, the Passenger Terminal Complex is 600,000 square metres in size and is the largest building in Doha.
